Socotra Escape

– 🌍 Welcome to Socotra! Upon arrival my team will welcome you at the airport and than we will go to Shoab Beach on a local fisherman’s boat. 

– More often than not, you will encounter pods of spinner dolphins that love to play with the boat! It’s one of our favorite activities during the whole tour! Their playful antics never fail to bring joy to everyone on board!

– You will end your first day at our exclusive campsite in Shoab Beach. Expect no one because we’re the only tour company that camps here. As the sun sets, gather with your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner under a canopy of stars, where local delicacies and tales of Socotra’s rich history await. Feel the excitement build as you anticipate the adventures that lie ahead.

– After breakfast, we’ll whisk you back to the tranquil shores of Qalancia Beach for a rejuvenating beach day. Whether you prefer soaking up the sun’s rays or frolicking in the lagoon pools carved by the tides, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Indulge in blissful moments of serenity, basking in the beauty of Socotra’s coastal paradise.

– As the day winds to a close we will retreat to our exclusive campsite nestled on the edge of the lagoon. Unwind under the star-studded star, lulled to sleep by the gentle rhythm of the ocean. 

 – You are on your way to the famous Diksam plateau and Firmhen forest! The plateau is located at an elevation of over 700 meters above sea level and provides breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.

– Before you get to the forest, you will have the opportunity to descend 700 meters down into the Dirhur valley, where you will have lunch under the shade of the legendary dragon blood trees with the sides of the canyon, making even the tallest human feel tiny.

-The dragon blood tree ONLY grows on Socotra Island. Scientists have tried planting it elsewhere without success. The Firmhen Forest also contains a dense forest of bottle trees, which are also endemic to Socotra Island. We’ll allocate some time to fully immerse ourselves in the area, marveling at the beauty of these ancient trees. After our exploration, we’ll convene for a mouthwatering dinner at our secluded and exclusive camping spot.

– After a delicious and filling breakfast; Today’s adventure beckons you to the south of the island where the mesmerizing Zaheq Sand Dunes await you!

– After an exhilarating exploration of the dunes, our journey continues to a small cave called Dagub. Once a refuge for locals during the monsoon season, it now plays an important part of Socotra’s history. A short hike leads you to this incredible nature formation where you may even encounter a few bats and birds! We are sure you will enjoy it!

– To end the day, as the sun dips below the horizon, indulge in a sumptuous dinner featuring fresh seafood, chicken and/or lamb (season permitting), a tantalizing feast for the senses. Get ready to feast under the stars!

– Following our underground escapade, we’ll set off on a scenic journey along the historic old road to the Homhil region. Upon arrival, prepare for a brief yet exhilarating hike to Homhil. Though the trail may pose challenges, the awe-inspiring views from the summit make every step worthwhile.

– As the sun sets, we’ll retreat to our exclusive camping spot nestled in the cool embrace of the Homhil region. Prepare to unwind amidst Socotra’s serene landscape.

– Prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey into the heart of Wadi Klisen Canyon, where the ancient landscapes unfold before your eyes.

– Afterwards, you will visit Arher Beach, Arher Beach offers the perfect setting for stargazing and unwinding by the crackling campfire.

– For this day, you will camp at our exclusive campsite, carefully selected along the secluded and unspoiled shores of Arher Beach – a cherished sanctuary that reflects the essence of Tour Socotra’s commitment to unique experiences.

– On your final full day in Socotra, rise with the sun to witness a breathtaking sunrise from atop the sand dunes. Choose between two options for your ascent – the easy or hard dunes – allowing you to tailor your experience to your preferences.

– After a delicious breakfast, you will visit Hadiboh, the capital of Socotra. Immerse yourself in the bustling markets, historical landmarks, and cultural treasures that adorn the streets, capturing the essence of this island paradise.

– As the day draws to a close, retreat to our exclusive hotel accommodation,

– We will cook the group a big going away breakfast followed by a lazy morning where you’re welcome to do whatever you may like for a couple of hours. After which we shall drive everyone to the airport, exchange hugs (if you liked us) and promise to see each other again!
