I was born and raised in Split, Croatia, in 1985. As an eight-year-old, I started swimming and that’s when my first travel adventures began. Initially, it was with my swimming clubs, but when I had 10 years of professional sports experience, I went to study in the United States at West Virginia University, and that’s when I started traveling alone or with my friends.

I graduated in the US in 2008, but since I never wanted to live anywhere else but Croatia, I returned home and started my professional career. Working in demanding managerial positions for almost 15 years, I always faced one problem – a lack of free days for traveling. And that’s why my dream has always been to have a job that would allow me enough days in a year to explore new cultures and worlds.

My dad nicknamed me “Skitusha” when I was a little girl because I was always wandering and never coming home on time. Later on, it turned out that his nickname “Skitusha” would best embody the adventurous spirit of his beloved daughter. “Skitusha” means to wander in Croatian, and as someone who has traveled to 38 countries to this day, I don’t want to stop at that number. I want to visit many more. I am surrounded by wonderful friends who also nurture the spirit of travelers and adventurers, and they are my greatest strength and inspiration to explore new destinations together.

Today, as I have decided to turn my life’s desire into reality, it’s time for Skitusha Escapes to come to life. You are all welcome to join me on my future travels, as solo travelers, couples, or groups. Together, let’s discover the most beautiful destinations of our planet, travel, have fun, and create new friendships and memories for a lifetime!
